St. Luke's Church has a volunteer choir that sings for all of its services (from September through June). Rehearsals are on Thursdays from 7:00 to 9:00 in the chancel of the church. They also rehearse on Sundays at 9:00 prior to the 10:00 service. The choir sings a broad range of music: from 16th century to the 21st century. The very favourable acoustics of our sanctuary enhance the sound of our choir. Several of the choir members serve as cantor for the psalm each week. As well as leading in the congregational singing of the hymns, psalms and mass settings, the choir sings an anthem each Sunday. New members are welcome: please contact our organist and choir director, Robert Jones at pentland@hotmail.com. Choir anthems: 2007-2008 Choir anthems: 2008-2009 Choir anthems: 2009-2010

| The Organ | |||
|
Casavant Frères Limitée of St. Hyacinthe, Quebec built a 3-manual, 28-stop pipe organ which they installed as their Opus 1539 in St. Luke=s Church in January 1937 at a cost of $7,800. In 1991 the firm of Caron, Gagnon and Baumgarten Inc. (Ottawa) cleaned and renovated the organ. They also updated the organ console with solid state key action, an 8-level memory piston system plus a movable platform for the console. The specifications of the organ are as follows.

Of the 25 façade pipes, counting from the left, the first 13 pipes are the bottom octave of the 8' Open Diapason stop from the Great division. (The other 12 pipes in the façade are only show pipes.) |
