“Rejoice with those who rejoice and weep with those who weep.” Romans 12:15
Together, with God’s grace, we extend pastoral care and practical assistance to people in our extended community who are experiencing crisis and to support their families; and to rejoice with members of our community in times of celebration.
Our Pastoral Care Ministry is steeped in Prayer.
The Team: Our Pastoral Care Team members have all participated in the Ottawa Pastoral Care Training Course or equivalent. All have been subject to the Screening in Faith process. The Incumbent is our Spiritual Director and adviser. The Coordinator oversees the team ministry; convenes and chairs meetings; arranges visit schedules; enables continuing education and training sessions.
The Associates: We have a group of associates, known as “the Angels”. They support us and our community with transportation to medical appointments; grocery shopping; preparing casseroles; knitting prayer shawls; and Prayer Support.
The team’s primary ministry is that, with God’s grace, we may be a presence to our community by visits to them in hospitals, residences, and private homes. We respond to prayer requests. Healing Prayer is offered to individuals, upon request, as part of the Liturgy on the third Sunday of each month.

The St Luke’s Pastoral Care Team is here as a loving presence to all. We reach out to one another through a visit in a time of need, prayer, a nourishing casserole, or just a quiet chat over a cup of tea.
